So this is interesting, today Google have updated their page rank just in time for Christmas (Read about it here).
It’s strange that this has happened because Matt Cutts head of the web spam team at Google stated a few months back that they would not be rolling out any page rank updates. What’s funny is the panic that many seo’s have in the industry. It makes me and I am sure many others laugh because after all this is not an algorithmn update. It is simply a page rank update and it means nothing to search results.
It does ask the question as to what will happen in the future though. Does this mean that Matt was telling lies and that page rank will still play a factor in the Google’s search results. But how? We will have to wait and see how things play out.
I’ve been building my online business for the past 2 years and it’s been difficult but the strange thing is that it’s got a lot easier. In fact the work I do on a day to day basis takes me a couple of hours and apart from that it’s easy.
One of the people who got me interested in this business was a friend of mine called Mark who has 3 online businesses. One of his businesses reviews products in the internet marketing niche like Inbox blueprint a new product which launches soon.
I was listening to an audio recently on business and it was interesting because the speaker mentioned that running an online business is like cooking a turkey. You have to do the work to prepare the turkey and get it in the oven however once you have done that it’s just a case of monitoring it and keeping an eye on the temperature maybe turning it down a little or even turning it up. Once it’s in the oven though it’s just maintenance.
The same goes for online businesses and having a system. When you have a system you just need to maintain it and that is what I’ve been able to do with my online business. Forums such as the Warrior Forum gave me a start at internet marketing, and then others such as Black Hat World helped me with more technical aspects. All in all it came down to trial and error and experience. That is what I can put my success down to.
Ultimately I believe if you want to have success online or with anything you need to find out what your strengths are and then play to them.
